What is Opium?

Opium started operations in May 2020 and uses ether to run a marketplace in which anyone can participate.
The aim of the platform is to give people access to financial derivatives while giving traders the benefits of decentralization.
Opium launched its in-house token, OPIUM, in January of 2021.

Who is the originator of Opium?
The team at Opium has been involved in the creation of Defi tools.
The platform's co-founder is the CEO. He has over 20 years of experience with assets under management of 20 million and over in the professional derivative trading and fund management sectors.


What makes Opium different?
Opium wants to become the Brilliance of Decentralized Derivatives.

A longer-term strategy has always been to attract traders away from traditional derivatives platforms. It took a long time for genuine interest to soar and for derivatives to become part of the criptocurrency landscape after the first Bitcoin (BTC) derivatives launched in the form of futures.
If implemented, the optional derivative fee on the Opium platform will see the creator and 10% retained by Opium.

How many Opium Coins are in circulation?
Opium is an in-house token.
Out of a total supply of 100 million, 60 percent of the token will go towards an active users fund, with users themselves deciding how many token will be available for release at set intervals.
The supply will go to investors and advisors with a two-year schedule.
The remaining 24% will be split between the Opium team and the Governance Reserve Fund, which will be under the control of users.

The results of Opium's audit are publicly available online.

Those involved with derivatives are included in standard risks for everyday users.

Where can you buy opium?
As of the time of writing this page, it is not freely traded as of yet. On January 28, 2021, OPIUM is available.
